This unique example of an Engelhard 2nd Series top hallmark vintage silver bar has a ground/brushed finish believed to have possibly been to make proper weight or to test different finishing techniques. It is unknown why this variety was brushed however there are now 4 known examples with the exact same weight & finish leading many to believe the finish was factory done however there is no way to confirm.
